The CM-47 is a large dual diaphragm tube condenser microphone based on the famous Neumann/Telefunken U-47 design and specifications. The Advanced Audio CM-47 features a very accurate Peluso CEK-367, 1.07” capsule with 6 micron German mylar diaphragms. This capsule has a frequency response within 1 db of the Neumann K47 mylar capsules used in U47 tube microphones built after 1961. The 6072a circuit has been upgraded by us to provide a lower output impedance with slightly more headroom than the vf14 circuit used in the original U47. Yet this circuit it able to provide a faster transient response when driving the authentic BV8 dual bobbin output transformer wound to the original Telefunken blueprints. The BV8 output transformer will deliver +24dbm with less than 1% distortion. The BV8 transformer is driven with a 1.5ufd mylar capacitor to take advantage of the transformers response down to 7hz.
